Appointments System

On a day to day basis our GP's and nurses run two different types of appointments;

Routine Appointments

These consist of non-urgent medical symptoms you wish to discuss. They are also used for follow-up or review appointments that the clinician will ask you to book in for, largely to help manage or treat long-term chronic illness.

Routine appointments are bookable up to fourteen days in advance daily.

Emergency 'On the Day' Appointments

We aim to delegate these appointments for patients presenting with an acute medical problem, to book an emergency 'On the Day' appointment please call the Surgery.

To arrange an appointment please telephone the surgery on 01745 342225.

You can also book online via MyHealthOnline.

Your local pharmacies can play a huge part in keeping you fit and healthy

Our choose pharmacy service offers a common ailment service - which is a sit down consultation with your pharmacist. They will be able to provide free treatment and advice regarding your current ailment.

There are 26 conditions which can be treated free of charge at the pharmacy.

Please follow the link here to Choose Well Wales for more information.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Home Visits

If you feel you need a doctor to visit you at home, please make your request by telephone between 08:00 and 11:00 if at all possible. The doctor or triage nurse may contact you before visiting to assess the call.

Calls after 11:00 may be subject to considerable delay as the doctor may already be out on his/her home visits for the day.

The doctors apply strict criteria in deciding if a home visit is appropriate. A home visit is made where it is medically impossible for a patient to get to the surgery, i.e. patients who are terminally ill and patients who are truly housebound.

Some elderly patients or those with acute symptoms, home assessment may be useful or necessary. However, being seen in the surgery allows a better consultation, as all of the equipment and resources needed are more readily available.

Unfortunately, transport issues to visit the surgery are not a justifiable reason for a GP to visit.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
