Signposting

📣 Important Update from Madryn House

Today we have introduced a brand‑new Signposting Toolkit at reception. This has been carefully developed by our GPs over the past 12 months to help ensure every patient is directed to the right person, first time.

We know it can feel like the GP needs to see everything, but this isn’t always the case. Many issues can be dealt with more quickly and effectively by other members of our clinical or administrative team. The toolkit helps our receptionists guide you to the most appropriate support as efficiently as possible.

Please remember: our receptionists are not stopping you from seeing a GP. They are following the clinical direction given by our GPs to make sure you receive the right care.

We also want to be clear that abusive behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated. Our team is here to help, and we appreciate your understanding and kindness as we introduce this new system.

Thank you for your continued support.

Patient Use of Social Media

Madryn House Surgery have a duty to protect our staff from online abuse which can be very upsetting. We encourage patients to feedback to the surgery through appropriate channels and we can then act on it as necessary. Legal advice will be sought and the appropriate action taken against any patient who posts defamatory comments.

Patients who are abusive to, or physically/ non-physically assault Practice Staff or other patients whilst in this practice will be removed from the practice list, this could also apply to those patients along registered at the same household. All circumstances will be considered, Mutual respect is expected at all times.”

There may be times when an inappropriate post has been put on a social media site by a patient, and they should be challenged on the content. It maybe that the post can be removed or altered by mutual agreement, If not then a decision has to be taken as to whether the post has breached any doctor patient relationship and whether that patient may need removing from the practice list.
